1. SPONSOR, TERM AND ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER

1.1 "The Our Canada Great Canadian Pancake Recipe Contest ” offered on Internet at www.ourcanada.ca/pancake (sponsored by Reader's Digest Association (Canada) ULC (RD) is open to all Canadian residents, who, at the time of entry, have reached the age of majority according to the law of the province or territory in which they reside.

1.2 Employees of RD, their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, dealers, advertising and promotion agencies, co-sponsors and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such employees/officers/directors are not eligible to enter.

1.3 All entries must be submitted by the close date of November 20, 2009, 08:59:59 (EST). Entries become the property of RD and will not be returned or acknowledged. No purchase is necessary or required to enter and to win.

2. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

2.1 In order to enter, participants must follow instructions online in order to join the Our Canada Community. Participants must also join the Pancake group and add their recipe in the blog area on the group page. When adding recipes online, participants will be required to add their first and last name, as well as their city and province of residence at the end of the recipe. This information will be posted online for all ten (10) recipes chosen to be voted on by community members.

2.2 Submissions should not include copyright-protected material unless given permission from the copyright holder. Failure to comply will result in disqualification from the competition.

2.3 Participants must submit their pancake, crepe or waffle recipe as per instructions in 2.1 above.

2.4 Participants may enter up to five (5) times during the period of this contest.

3.PRIZES AND AWARDING

By November 27, 2009, each entry will be judged by a group of RD Editors (whose decision will be final in all matters relating to this contest) in order to choose ten (10) recipes from all recipes received on time. These recipes will be judged based on originality, taste and ease of execution/preparation and they will be posted online on or around November 27, 2009 until December 11, 2009 at noon (EST) so that community members can vote on their favorite recipe.

On or around December 11, 2009 eighteen (18) winners will be identified as follows:

1st Prize: a Complete Kitchen Prize from T-fal® valued at $1,500.00 (includes a Professional cookware 10pc set, 26” frypan, 30” frypan, 4 slice toaster, kettle, food processor, breadmaker, deep fryer, raclette).

2nd Prize: a Breakfast Prize Package from T-fal® valued at $750.00 (includes a Professional cookware 10pc set, 26” frypan, 30” frypan, 4 slice toaster, kettle and a dessert Fondue maker).

3rd Prize: a Cookware Prize Package from T-fal® valued at $500.00 (includes a Professional Cookware 10pc set, 26” frypan, 30” frypan).

Secondary Prizes

Seven (7) runner up winners will be awarded a Cookware Prize Package from T-fal® valued at $150.00 (includes 26” and 30” Professional T-fal® frypans).

Three (3) winners will be picked at random among all those who will have entered at least one recipe and each will be awarded a Cookware Prize Package from T-fal® valued at $150.00 (includes 26” and 30” Professional T-fal® frypans).

Two (2) winners will be picked at random among all those who will have posted at least one comment online and each will be awarded Cookware Prize Package from T-fal® valued at $150.00 (includes 26” and 30” Professional T-fal® frypans

Three (3) winners will be picked at random among all those who will have voted at least once (as per instructions provided online) and each will be awarded a Cookware Prize Package from T-fal® valued at $150.00 (includes 26” and 30” Professional T-fal® frypans).

Total value of awards = $5,000.00

The prizes are non-transferable, and must be accepted as awarded. The prizes are guaranteed to be awarded. By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and the decisions of RD are final on all matters regarding this contest. The qualifying winners will be notified by mail, shortly after the contest close date. The winners must sign a declaration and claim form in order to claim their prize. The eight (8) winners picked at random for secondary prizes will be required to answer a skill-testing question in order to claim their prize. If a prize is unclaimed the next eligible person will qualify to win it. Winners will receive their prize approximately 30 days from the date the release form is received at the address established by RD.

4. CONDITIONS

By entering, the entrants warrant and represent the following with respect to submission: (a) entrant is the sole and exclusive owner of the submission; (b) the submission is entrant's own creation and is 100% original; (c) the submission will not infringe on any rights of any third parties; and (d) any third parties appearing in the submission have given the entrant appropriate consent to be photographed and used as permitted herein.

By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless RD and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, and co-sponsors, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.

By submitting an entry, the entrant confirms having cleared all usage rights associated with submission and agree to license submission to RD for use in their promotions, magazines and websites.

Submissions may be cut, reformatted, rearranged, combined with other materials and/or otherwise modified, in RD's discretion. Participation in the contest and acceptance of prize constitute the winner's permission for RD to use his/her name, photographs, biographical information, and entry and/or any statements made by the winner regarding the contest without notice or additional compensation.

RD reserves the right to refuse submissions deemed inappropriate or offensive in any way.

5. RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST

If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of RD that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, RD reserves the right to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest.

Caution: any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, RD reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. LEGAL

This contest complies with all Canadian laws. In Québec, the required duties have been paid. Quebec residents may submit any litigation respecting the conduct or organizing of a publicity contest to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
